On Sunday night, the Boston Celtics defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 124-107 at home. Jaylen Brown scored 26 points, bringing his NBA career total to 10,000. The win was the 13th consecutive for the Celtics.
Boston, currently leading the NBA, got a triple-double from Kristaps Porzingis, who scored 12 points and grabbed 10 boards in just 27 minutes.
With 20 points from Payton Pritchard, 15 from Derrick White, and 12 from Jrue Holiday, the Celtics improved to 14–16 on the season.
“I know he’s happy about that,” Boston coach Joe Mazzulla said of Brown’s career success, praising his work ethic, dedication, and the progress he made this year to become a well-rounded player. “It’s cool to be able to coach guys that get to those type of milestones and be a part of that.”
Portland was led by Dalano Banton’s 28 points, while Deandre Ayton contributed 22 points and 14 rebounds. Trail Blazers forward Jabari Walker contributed 14 points and 18 boards as the team went 2-5 on their seven-game road trip.

Though I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs in my early career, I’ve also had my fair share of opportunities, growth, and more responsibilities. My heart goes out to all of the JB fans who have supported me since the beginning.

The crowd’s ovation was “very nice of them,” Billups admonished. “I am deeply grateful for that…. Though brief, my stay here was enjoyable. For the sake of the coffee, I relished the opportunity to pretend to be a Celtic. The Celtics have a long and storied history in this fantastic sports town. There was a brief period when I was involved. It means a lot to me that they value my time here.
Billups was traded by the Boston Celtics during his rookie season, despite being drafted by them.
After the game, White walked out of the Boston locker room donning a college jersey belonging to Hall of Famer Billups, which belonged to the Colorado Rockies.
Returned to the Bruins lineup for the first quarter were guard Malcolm Brogdon and former center Robert Williams III. Holiday and the other player were acquired by Portland in an offseason trade. On the video board, you could see Williams with his moniker “Time Lord” displayed there.
