“CAN’T BE COMPARED” TO REAL MADRID: ANTONIO RÜDIGER’S VIEWS ON CHELSEA AND HIS FORMER CLUB

Late on Sunday night, Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger made some remarks that have caught the attention of people all around Europe.

The German had already discussed the factors that distinguish his present club from his previous ones.

As for Rüdiger, he has played for prominent teams across Germany, Italy, England, and now Spain.Before joining forces with Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, he spent time at Stuttgart, AS Roma, and Chelsea.

While playing for Premier League powerhouse Chelsea, the all-action goalkeeper had his first taste of European glory in 2020–21 when his team won the Champions League.

This past weekend, the 31-year-old was interviewed by UEFA (as reported by Marca) on his thoughts on playing for Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Even though Rüdiger had already achieved great things with Chelsea, he took use of the chance to explain why seeing Real Madrid play in Europe “cannot be compared” to anything else:

“While the other clubs I’ve played for were fantastic as well, I just don’t think they can hold a candle to Madrid. This team has won 14 European Cups. Without mentioning it, winning the Champions League is always the goal here. The pressure is real; I felt it last year, so I know how you feel. You must be prepared to see this through to the very conclusion. Here, success is paramount. We will not tolerate any kind of loss or draw.
