Osimhen’s stellar play for Napoli over the past two years has made him a target for elite European clubs. He was an unsung hero last season, scoring 26 goals in 38 games to help the team win its first Scudetto in more than three decades.

Osimhen was linked to a move away from Naples, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and PSG after his season-ending performance. He nevertheless decided to stay put and inked a contract extension that would keep him with the team through 2026.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Though his next location is uncertain, the Nigerian attacker appears to be getting closer to making a move in the summer. Napoli would probably ask for a deal worth about $130 million and want to put the money back into finding a replacement.

Vidigal, a former Portugal international who spent four years at Napoli, has encouraged the team to try to use the money from Osimhen’s sale to recruit Swedish sensation Gyokeres. This is due to his belief that the Sporting Lisbon player is capable of performing on par with Osimhen.

“Osimhen is going to leave, and Napoli needs a potent striker.” Gyokeres will equal Osimhen’s goal total if he travels to Italy. Every game he plays, he will dazzle,” Vidigal said to Napoli Magazine.

This season in the Portuguese league, Gyokeres has tallied 22 goals and provided nine assists. The Sweden international is already being pursued by Chelsea and Arsenal, among others.

In less than a month, the season will come to a conclusion, and it will then be revealed where Osimhen will go next.
