In Sunday’s 132-122 regular-seasоn finale against the Washingtоn Wizards, the NBA-best Bоstоn Celtics rested their entire starting lineup, led by a career-high 38 pоints frоm Paytоn Pritchard.
On a Boston squad that was missing Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and starting backup Al Horford, Svi Mykhailiuk scored 26 points and Sam Hauser logged 16.
Pritchard contributed nine boards and twelve assists. The 6-foot-1 Pritchard became one of just three Celtics in franchise history to record a triple-double in last year’s final regular season game, joining Larry Bird and John Havlicek in doing so. He scored 30 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and dished out 11 assists.After finishing with 64 victories, the Celtics became the 15th team in franchise history to do so. The previous team to accomplish this feat was the 2008 NBA champions.
