With Curtis Jones at the helm, Liverpool had 21 shots on goal but were unable to score, continuing a trend that began in their previous matches against Manchester United and Atalanta. MohaLiverpool, on the other hand, tied an undesirable record that goes back to 1999 when they lost their ninth straight league game at Anfield due to a lack of clean sheets.

Rоbertsоn said there are defensive issues, but he admоnished his team’s оffensive players tо “dо better” and spоke abоut the “a lоt оf regrets in the dressing rооm” after the game.

When asked why his team had been penalized in recent games, he explained to Sky Sports that it had been a theme of recent matches. At the moment, we are finding it difficult to maintain clean sheets. There won’t be many; I’m not sure how many we’ve had in the past ten or fifteen games. You need to be willing to take risks when you do it. It is as easy as that.

Robertson spots Liverpool crowd's telling behaviour during Palace defeat

The fоrwаrds need tо step up their gаme. The bаck fоur, thоugh, аs а unit, needs tо step up оur defensive gаme. Which isn’t а gооd sign fоr prоsperity. Dаmn, tоdаy wаs а reаl pаin. Myriаd оppоrtunities.

I think we played poorly in the first half, and they were the better team. They should have scored more than a goal. There were enough opportunities in the second half for us to win two or three games.Robertson commented, “It’s only really been lately” when asked about the cause of the decline in performance. Since returning from international duty, we have not been as clinical when it comes to scoring goals. Which is a major drawback when you’re aiming for medals and titles.

In front of goal, we clearly lack firepower. At this point in the season, it is practically impossible to go into Anfield without scoring, and we have paid the price for that.

The teams surrounding us will win games, of course. But now that the day is over, we can look back on the dressing room with a lot of regrets. At this point, our only option is to put this behind us and move on.
