After joining Frankfurt from Royal Antwerp in June of last year, 22-year-old Pacho has become an almost constant contributor to the team, missing only one game during Frankfurt’s remarkable Bundesliga run this season.

Nevertheless, rumors have been circulating that Pacho may be leaving the Waldstadion soon, as some of Europe’s top clubs were reportedly impressed by the center-back’s stellar performance in his maiden season.Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports reports that Frankfurt may want to unload young defender Pacho, whom they signed for a fee of over €9 million (£7.6 million) last summer, when the season comes to a close.
The Bundesliga club is open to selling the central defender for a fee between €50 and 60 million (£43 and 51 million), as they see a clear opportunity to turn a tidy profit.
It has been reported that Frankfurt are ‘informed’ of the interest from Liverpool and Arsenal over a possible transfer for Pacho.
After agreeing to leave Belgium for Germany last summer, Pacho, an Ecuadorian, put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will keep him connected to Frankfurt until 2028.
Recent comments made by Frankfurt’s sporting director on Pacho indicated that Willian is a highly intelligent player who pays close attention in training and is fast to put instructions into action.
“What really sets him apart is his speed and strength in the tackle.”If Pacho keeps improving at his current rate, Frankfurt head coach Dino Toppmoller thinks he might become a “world-class” defender.
For his part, Toppmoller assured reporters early in the season that he was “doing a great job” and was steadily improving.
“He’s incredibly dependable and possesses extraordinary talent.”
