The Denver Nuggets have defeated the Los Angeles Lakers nine times in a row, including the first game of their 2024 NBA Playoffs first-round series.
It appears that Dwight Howard believes he can assist Los Angeles overcome their problems with Denver. He even reminded everyone on social media that he is a year younger than LeBron James, the top player for the Lakers, in an apparent attempt to get his former NBA company to hire him again.

The Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has been a thorn in the Lakers’ side recently, especially during their 2023 Western Conference Finals matchup. It is questionable, though, if he can still contain Jokic. In that series, Howard also declared he was the only player capable of stopping the two-time MVP.
Upon hearing from a user on X (formerly Twitter) that Jokic would no longer cook him, the eight-time All-Star expressed disagreement.
Years have passed since “Superman” and the “Jоker” squared оff in the pоstseasоn—mоre specifically, in the 2020 Western Cоnference Finals. Hоward played 20.2 minutes per game during the series, which helped tо restrict Jоkic’s оutput tо 21.8 pоints, 7.2 rebоunds, and 5.0 assists per game.
Since then, in regular season games against Los Angeles, the Serbian big man has averaged 25.3 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 8.8 assists. In addition, he averaged 27.8 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 11.8 assists per game for Denver during their 2023 Western Conference Finals sweep of the Lakers.
In the current series versus Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets, it appears that the Lakers have a lot on their plate.
Before the series began, Anthony Davis gave off the impression that he was confident, giving Denver the warning that they would not be playing coy. For the remainder of the first round, let’s hope the Lakers can support their words with strong performances.
