Trent Alexander-Arnold confirms the renewal of Under Armour for ‘UK£6.4m’

The sportswear business secures a new multi-year partnership with a star from Liverpool.

England and Liverpool soccer star Under Armour has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold has inked a multi-year contract agreement.

The 20-year-old and the sportswear company originally collaborated in 2017, and according to rumors in March, he signed a new boot deal worth an estimated UK£6.4 million (US$7.8 million) over a four-year period.

The Liverpudlian will still be able to wear Under Armour boots under the new arrangement, and he will also have access to the company’s other footwear, clothes, and gear. He becomes the second well-known British athlete to be sponsored by the company, after Anthony Joshua in boxing.

With this new contract, which is a tenfold rise over his previous one, Alexander-Arnold solidifies his position as one of English soccer’s highest paid off-field players.

The right-back’s new contract with Under Armour placed him second in the England squad in terms of boot sponsorship value, only behind captain Harry Kane. He is the youngest player in the history of the Uefa Champions League to participate in consecutive finals, having won the title in June.

“These past few years have been amazing, and Under Armour has been a very important part of that journey in helping me become a better athlete,” Alexander-Arnold stated. After witnessing firsthand what’s already underway and what Under Armour has in store for us down the road, I’m incredibly enthusiastic for our future.
