In an interview, Musiala revealed that the reason he selected the number 10 was because it was worn by three of his favorite FC Barcelona players: Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi, and Neymar.

Musiala revealed: “I grew up during the time of Messi, Neymar, and Ronaldinho.” It has always been my ambition to wear that number shirt, and they are all wearing number 10.

The 21-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder also reaffirmed that “without a doubt Messi and Ronaldinho” are his favorite players, even if the German also said that he used to love Zinedine Zidane, Juventus, and France. He does, however, genuinely view Messi as his idol.

The young youngster for Bayern is a Messi devotee.

He constantly captivated me and I greatly admired him. Growing up, I watched Leo and Neymar play. They are my favorite individuals because they inspire me to play football and provide me with a wealth of knowledge.

 

Observing Leo score goals or Neymar make plays with the ball is how I always learn. I would then try to mimic them outside in the garden. Musiala said, “I’ve always been a fan of theirs.

The German player asserted that he is not yet prepared to draw comparisons with the Argentine sensation, saying, “It is nearly difficult for me to compare anything to Messi. I believe it is pointless to compare oneself to Leo or any other player. I work hard at my career year after year, trying to improve and bring home prizes for my team.

Musiala learned how to play football from Neymar and Messi

Musiala is the youngest player to debut for Bayern Munich in 2020 and has won 4 Bundesliga championships and 1 Champions League with this club.

However, the German star insists that he has a long way to go to achieve the legacy of winning the Ballon d’Or eight times like Lionel. He feels that his daily progress can pave the way to such a destination.
