A pivotal Eastern Conference quarterfinal showdown between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers continued in Game 4. Things did not go according to plan in the final minutes, despite the Lakers’ overwhelming performance under LeBron James’s guidance. After head coach Darvin Ham did not dispute an official’s decision, James seemed to grow angry with him.
Los Angeles was defending nine minutes into the fourth quarter when Kentavious Caldwell-Pope drove toward the paint; LeBron James went scorched earth near the Lakers bench following the call. In his attempt to go past Caldwell-Pope, Nuggets star LeBron James lost the ball and it went out of bounds. But the referees decided that James touched the ball last.
The play made James furious, and he seemed to be encouraging Darvin Ham to challenge:Based on the video review, it appears that Caldwell-Pope was the last player to make contact with the ball before it slipped out of bounds. So, I can totally see why James is so irritated:
The Lakers’ оffensive barrage against the Nuggets persisted despite the incident, and James and cоmpany ultimately prevailed, 117-108. Final stats fоr the intense game fоr James were 30 pоints, 5 bоards, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 1 blоck. Nоt оnly that, but the 39-year-оld was there when Lоs Angeles needed him mоst.
With 25 points and 24 rebounds, Anthony Davis put on a dominant show. The superstar big man is having a career-best stretch of play right now. Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell, who contributed 21 points apiece, helped Davis out.
