At today’s @UCLAFootball “Spring Showcase” in Pasadena, it was wonderful to meet ZACH LAVINE and his family.
1 deal the Bulls have to make following the Heat’s play-in debacle
After losing in the NBA play-in playoffs to the Miami Heat a few weeks ago, the Chicago Bulls wrapped up another lackluster season. The season’s sad conclusion was only natural, given how disappointing the season had been. The Bulls got out to a strong start in Miami, going up 11-6 thanks to some early three-pointers, but the Heat never looked back. With the 112-91 victory, Miami advances to the playoffs, where they will face the Boston Celtics.
In the second quarter, the Bulls found themselves down 20 points after giving away an 11-6 lead. Even after falling behind 20–20, the Bulls showed remarkable resilience. The Bears battled back to tie the game at seven points in the third quarter, but the Heat re-energized and won by a landslide.
A 39-43 record was the Bulls’ regular season record. Their first play-in tournament game was a victory over the Atlanta Hawks, but they still weren’t good enough to advance to the postseason. If Chicago had won Friday night’s game in Miami, they would have advanced to the playoffs with only one loss; however, they were unable to do so.
The Bulls will have another season under their belts. Things improved after the 5–14 setback, but they still have a long way to go before they can appease their insatiable fan base. At the beginning of the year, nobody thought this team would get this far in the season, so reaching the postseason was an incredible accomplishment. However, the fan base is still demanding more. It would be surprising if Zach LaVine returned to the Bulls next season, and the team is expected to make some trades this offseason.
Zach LaVine is one player who needs to leave. The Bulls’ Ԁesire tо Ԁeаl Zаch LаVine befоre tо the trаԀe ԀeаԀline wаs а persistent rumоr thrоughоut the seаsоn, but it never mаteriаlizeԀ. аfter enԀuring а string оf аilments thrоughоut the seаsоn, LаVine ԀeciԀeԀ tо enԀ his cаreer with surgery just befоre the ԀeаԀline. аfter LаVine ԀeciԀeԀ tо get surgery, nоthing trаnspireԀ, sо nоbоԀy knоws if Chicаgо wаs plаnning аnything оr nоt.
The Bulls can finally trade LaVine now that the summer is arrived. He is a fantastic player and they can acquire talented players in exchange for him, but he doesn’t appear to be a suitable match for this Chicago squad. If the Bulls were to make a deal, who would you target?
The Bulls have been considering trading for players like D’Angelo Russell and Kevin Huerter. Last season, Chicago’s three-point shooting was among the league’s worst, so they could need some improvement in that department. Even though trading for Russell is a long shot, the Bulls will still earn a decent return on their LaVine acquisition.
A decent package deal might also be possible if the Bulls decide to trade LaVine. If they traded him for Kevin Huerter, for instance, they could also get other younger, less famous, but no less talented players. There can be no offseason without the LaVine trade.
Even though Zach LaVine is a fantastic basketball player, the Bulls can’t pass up this move because it makes too much sense. That should take place during the offseason. What the Bulls get in return for him is the only open question.
