Among the athletes who walked the red carpet at Monday night’s Met Gala were golf legend Nelly Korda and WNBA sensation Angel Reese.

Attended by famous faces from the worlds of music, television, movies, and sports, the annual fundraising event took place in Manhattan.

Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion was the subject of this year’s Met Gala, which coincidentally fell on Reese’s 22nd birthday.

At this week’s Cognizant Founders Cup in Clifton, New Jersey, Korda is aiming for her sixth consecutive LPGA Tour victory.

The golfer hails from Florida and is the world’s number one female golfer right now. At this summer’s Paris Olympics, she’ll be aiming for her second Olympic gold medal.

After a stellar collegiate career (which she began at Maryland and finished at LSU), the Sky selected Reese eighth overall in the 2024 WNBA draft.

Dwyane Wade, a former NBA player turned TV host, was also at the Met Gala, as was Ben Simmons of the Brooklyn Nets, whose eccentric wardrobe earned him the wrath of many spectators.

Simmons sported a plaid-patterned coat and jacket, accessorized with rings, a watch, and a briefcase featuring a large clock.Even though the Nets player only appeared in fifteen games this NBA season, fans were nevertheless very impressed by Simmons’ fashion choice.

A nerve impingement in his lower back forced him to miss the remainder of the season, after missing the first 38 games. He continued to play until early March.

People on social media took notice of the clock briefcase and made fun of Simmons for being absent for far too long in the previous seasons.
