Prior to the 2022–2023 season, Liverpool paid approximately £85 million to acquire Nunez from Benfica. Despite some criticism for his wastefulness, Nunez has made 31 goal contributions in 52 games across all competitions this season, which isn’t too awful.

Transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano then took action to allay the fears of Liverpool supporters, the majority of whom seemed to want the striker to stay at Anfield.

Through his Daily Briefing blog, Romano stated, “Many fans are asking about Darwin Nunez deleting all Liverpool-related posts from his Instagram.”

“But these are personal matters, so only Darwin can explain why he took that action; it’s undoubtedly not the ideal time for him, but I would never associate social media posts with shifts in the transfer market.

“So far, everything is quiet; nothing is happening, and Darwin is undoubtedly eager to talk with Arne Slot, the new coach.”
