Tyrique George, an England U18 international of Nigerian heritage, chose Eden Hazard and Cole Palmer as his two favorite Chelsea players, both current and former, in remarks made prior of the U18 Premier League national final.
With two games remaining in the season, Chelsea trails fourth-place Aston Villa by 10 points, meaning they are mathematically eliminated from the running to represent their home country in the UEFA Youth League the following season.
However, if the Blues defeat Manchester United U18s in Tuesday, May 14 at Stamford Bridge in the national final, they will unquestionably secure their spot in the competition.
Chelsea defeated Southampton 2-1 on Tuesday, with George playing the entire game, to take the lead in the U18 Premier League rankings, southern section.
George is regarded as one of Chelsea’s top young players, so much so that several times this season, he has been invited to train with the first team.
Though he hasn’t yet made his first team debut, manager Mauricio Pochettino has selected him for three of the last six Premier League matchday squads.

“Playing for Chelsea is great, just love it being here every day.”
Regarding current and former Chelsea players he likes, he stated: “It was probably Hazard as a child; he was a joy to watch and very skilled. Cole Palmer has to be the best right now because he scores a lot of goals.
“It will be great to win the National League, go into the UEFA Youth League.”
Cole Palmer made history in March by becoming the first Chelsea player to score in five consecutive home Premier League games since Eden Hazard.
This season, George has participated in fifteen goals in thirteen U18 Premier League games.
