In spite of the fact that he had a lackluster performance in his first scrimmage at the NBA Draft Combine on Tuesday, Bronny James was able to make a complete turnaround in his second opportunity on Wednesday.
While James was on his way to finishing with a team-high 13 points in 23 minutes for Team St. Andrews in a 90-83 victory over Team Love, he appeared to be more at ease on the court. With his iconic father, LeBron James, a star player for the Los Angeles Lakers, and Rob Pelinka, the general manager of the Lakers, in attendance, the child managed to deliver a strong performance.
On Wednesday, James found himself playing off the ball more frequently, which resulted in him having more opportunity to catch and shoot the ball. He shown self-assurance in hitting the rim and fighting through contact, despite the fact that he had certain areas in which he might improve, such as his turnovers and his shooting efficiency (4-of-10).
During the scrimmage that took place on Tuesday, James was only able to score four points and get four rebounds. This led to his progress.
During Wednesday’s competition, the 19-year-old received positive feedback from fans on social media, including the following:
Bronny has had another difficult day, but he has eventually managed to make a corner three with a few seconds left. I’ve always admired the way he carried himself. This is true regardless of how he is playing; he never gets too high or too low. Because of the way he carried himself out here, he has a lot of reasons to be pleased of himself.
I absolutely adore the fact that Bronny is mentally prepared to enter the game as a role player right away. The vast majority of players his age who have only ever played once are not willing to accept it. [Citation needed]It is precisely for this reason that Bronny will remain in the industry and enjoy a lengthy career.
Due to the fact that the deadline is on May 29th, James still has time to make a decision regarding whether he wants to continue taking part in the draft or go back to college.
Regardless of the decision that James makes, he is undoubtedly gaining valuable experience at the combine as he attempts to evaluate his abilities in comparison to those of other prospects.
