Iconic Elegance: 1962 Jaguar E-type Series 1 Coupe

A legend was formed in 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show, when the first E-Type was presented to the public for the first time. It is obvious to everyone that the form and strength on display are pretty remarkable. If a road automobile could reach speeds of up to 150 miles per hour and was covered in the most magnificent coachwork, it would undoubtedly be a hit with consumers. Despite the fact that Jaguar had only scheduled 250 total constructions, the number of orders that were booked by the time the Geneva show came to a close exceeded 500.

Presented before us is an example of an early E type that was registered in May of 1962.

In order to assist him in getting rid of his collection of historic cars, one of our customers has requested our assistance. As one of them, this E-Type is included. Since 1996, he has been the owner of the vehicle, and up until a few years ago, he made frequent use of it. For a number of years, it has been stored in his garage, and the only time it has been driven out is so that he can do an annual inspection.

Physically, it had been repaired at some point in the past. Currently, it provides the new custodian with the choice to either totally restore the coachwork or to drive it while preserving its patina instead. With the wire wheels and the red coachwork that is already in place, it presents an absolutely gorgeous appearance.

It is possible to start and stop it mechanically, and both the engine and the transmission function properly; nevertheless, before you drive it home, we would recommend that you have it thoroughly inspected mechanically. Our workshop is equipped with a number of ramps, and we would be delighted to demonstrate the underside of any ramp to any customer or representative of that customer. A recent MOT test was performed on it, and it was successful.

One of the folders has a history of the work that has been done throughout the course of the years. Additionally included with the vehicle is the license plate number 160 FPO.

The engine and chassis numbers are identical. In addition, it is a right-hand drive vehicle from the factory. The owner, who is also the registered keeper, will receive all payments directly from the supplier.

The fact that some of these repaired E-Types are selling for more over one hundred fifty thousand pounds is certainly a good sign for the one that we have here today.
