Another look at his Nike (NYSE:NKE +0.98%) BOOK 1 can be seen in Devin Booker’s recent Instagram video, which he aptly titled “WEAR TEST.” The video shows him wearing the sneakers during a workout and describing their features to former NBA player Jamal Crawford, who is participating in his pro-am league. Booker has also been seen at one of Drake’s latest gigs, where he reportedly received a call out from the 6God himself. While we wait for the official release date to be announced, check out the video below to get another look at the Suns guard’s first signature.
Devin Booker, star of the Phoenix Suns, has had a tҺrilling year overall, despite his team’s second-round exit at the hands of the NBA champs. The teenage guard’s first signature shoe with Swoosh was announced in December. After that, the Suns’ blockbuster trade for Kevin Durant happened. A month later, in March, rumors about the upcoming “Nike D Book 1” surfaced again, this time suggesting that its release would coincide with the 2023–24 NBA season.
Sneaker News has provided us with an exclusive first peek at the Nike BOOK 1. Two samples, both dominated by black, were spotted, each serving as a preview of the final product. Although not technically a low-top, the sleek design sits at or just above the ankle, and it has been tried out in both fuzzy suede and a composite of materials. Gold accents decorate the shoe’s Swooshes on the sides, while “BOOK” is written on the tongue and “96” appears on the heel to honor Booker’s birth year. In addition to these exciting developments, SN reports that a sneaker model simply called the “Craftsman” (perhaps a lifestyle sneaker from Booker and Nike) has had a unique texture developed that extends from the elevated mudguard to the midsole. This texture is intended to complement the Swoosh that overlaps the mudguard and synthetic upper.
Although Nike has not yet announced the specifics of Devin Booker’s signature silhouette for the company, fans can expect to hear about the shoe’s impending release sometime during the 2018 NBA season.
In other news from the dynamic shoe market, a first glimpse at the highly anticipated Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Reverse Grinch” has surfaced, with a possible drop date of December.
