The league announced today that Anthony Davis, a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, has been selected to the 2023–24 Kia NBA All-Defensive First Team. For the 12-year veteran, it is his fifth career all-defensive team selection.
With 151 points at the end, Davis garnered 60 of 99 first team votes and was selected for the third time in his NBA All-Defensive First Team career. Prior to this, he was honored as a second team member for his play in the 2016–17 and 2014–15 seasons, and he was named to the first team after the 2019–20 and 2017–18 campaigns.
Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs, Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat, Herb Jones of the New Orleans Pelicans, and center Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves round out the first team.
