The league revealed their All-NBA Teams for the 2023–2024 campaign this evening. Jayson Tatum was named to the All-NBA First Team for the third straight season. Tatum joined the Third Team in 2020.
Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks, Luka Doncic of the Mavericks, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Thunder, and Nikola Jokic of Denver joined Tatum. With 65 first place votes and 34 second place votes compared to 37 first place votes and 61 second place votes, Tatum defeated Jalen Brunson of the Knicks.
Tatum, who is 26 years old, had likely his best season to date with the 64-18 Celtics, averaging over 27 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in his sixth season. With the same recognition, Tatum was eligible for the supermax extension last year and may receive a $315 million, five-year contract this summer.
With 50 third-place votes, Jaylen Brown, who finished on the All-NBA Second Team the previous season, received the most votes of any All-NBA snub. Due to his All-NBA selection in the previous offseason, Brown was qualified for and signed his $304 million supermax agreement in July of last year.
