On Sunday, the NBA forward posted photos to Instagram after a day spent rafting and lounging by the pool with his 5-year-old son, Jayson “Deuce” Christopher.

They also take pictures together while vacationing on a boat and a jet ski.

Tatum captioned the photos, “Deuce’s dad.”

Tatum became a father at the young age of 19, and his son Deuce has since become a fan favorite on the Celtics and among NBA players. Tatum’s ex-girlfriend Toriah Lachell is living in Deuce with him.

At a press conference in June, the NBA player opened up about being a role model as a father and his strong bond with his son Deuce, whom he welcomed in December 2017, just six months after being picked by the Celtics.

Although I did not have Deuce until he was born in 2017, I consider 2017 to be the most significant year of my life thus far. Tatum said, “I just had a child, so that’s a new chapter in my life and my profession.

The Boston Celtics star then elaborated, saying, “My mindset was not to sacrifice either, that I was going to be the best father as I could as well as the best basketball player.” There wasn’t a rulebook to follow or a set procedure to follow. In the end, it came down to what made sense.

I just go with the flow. I see him frequently. Tatum remarked, “I feel like we’re growing up together as we go through this adventure together, since I was 19 when I got drafted. Now that he’s older, I’m progressing through my professional life, and we’re both growing up and experiencing the same things at the same time. For my money, that’s the most exciting aspect.
