After Lionel Messi’s absence, Inter Miami’s manager picks the team’s best player to face the Vancouver Whitecaps

Without Lionel Messi in the lineup, Inter Miami’s Tata Martino had to choose an MVP for yesterday night’s match against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The game was overshadowed by Inter Miami’s lack of Lionel Messi, but the Herons still managed to win 2-1 in British Columbia, extending their unbeaten streak to ten games.

Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and the Argentine international weren’t on the 13-hour roundtrip from Miami to Vancouver because they were rested for this week’s doubleheader against St. Louis City SC and Atlanta United.

Last night, Martino was very impressed by one player.Following his game-winning performance for Inter Miami against Vancouver, Robert Taylor received high accolades.Robert Taylor, the Finnish attacker who scored the game-winning goal and set up Leonardo Campana for the other, was the recipient of Martino’s gushing praise in his post-win press conference.

Ԁue tо the аbsence оf Messi аnԀ Suаrez, Inter Miаmi eаrneԀ а well-ԀeserveԀ victоry оver Vаncоuver оn SаturԀаy thаnks in lаrge pаrt tо 29-yeаr-оlԀ winger Tаylоr, whо superbly ԀirecteԀ the аssаult.

With Messi competing in the Copa America next month, Martino has already urged Taylor to step up, and the forward more than delivered last night in Canada. The importance of Robert’s position was recognized when we were preparing for the game, and that’s exactly what occurred, according to Martino. He was the game-changer for our team, and we won thanks to him.

Next month, Taylor proved that he has what it takes to be Inter Miami’s star player. While Messi and Suarez are gone on international duty next month, Inter Miami’s Taylor can step up and shine with a spectacular goal and a well-taken assist.

Taylor set the bar high for what the Inter Miami attacker could accomplish in the next weeks as the forward ruthlessly controlled Vancouver down the left wing.

Even without Messi while he is out on international duty with Argentina, Inter Miami should be alright with the Finnish international if he can replicate last night’s performance in future games.
