The outstanding rookie for the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark, is facing the wrath of the WNBA for a string of technical fouls she racked up early in the season. Clark was assessed her third technical penalty in as many games on Thursday night in Indiana, following an angry altercation with Seattle Storm player Victoria Vivians.

Additional penalties are imposed for each successive technical penalty. With a 1-8 record, the Indiana Fever have had a rough season, and Clark’s growing dissatisfaction has been plain to see. The tough play she has been the target of by opposing teams has only made her court struggles worse. Clark has found her shooting form, but the constant strain has caused her temper to erupt.

Both players were assessed two technical fouls in Thursday’s altercation, which happened when Clark confronted Vivians. As if that weren’t bad enough, Fever head coach Christie Sides was then called for a technical foul after what seemed like a foul on Clark near the basket went uncalled.

Frustrations are already building up as Clark gets into altercations with the officials.In the past, Clark has also gotten into arguments with the referees, which led to technical fouls. She was called for an infraction in a recent match against the Sun of Connecticut for yelling, “It’s an f-king foul” in response to an uncalled play.With an emphasis on keeping the team’s attention on the game, Coach Sides has spoken with officials about the team’s behavior. “Our conversations with the authorities are taking up too much of our time.
