Following a string of scandals involving the eighth iteration of the Signature Kyrie line and its “father” that captivated the entire basketball world, Nike and Kyrie Irving appeared to have finally found a “common voice” when fans came across a slew of new images of the eighth iteration of the shoe on the Brooklyn Nets superstar’s feet.

Looking at the shoe model created by Benjamin Nethongkome, the Kyrie 8, it appears to carry over the work of its forerunners, particularly with the reintroduction of the rounded shape and high collar that were previously linked with the Kyrie 6 edition.

When it comes to the upper, the Kyrie line’s major emphasis is Textile Mesh material, which helps the sneakers become lighter and more elegant while always maintaining comfort. As an added bonus, two materials—suede and synthetic leather—appear simultaneously. The leather, which covers the entire shoe and runs along the upper, enhances the Lockdown feature and brings to mind the iconic Air Jordan 10 Kyrie 8. The Data-Informed sole pattern from the 7th generation of the Kyrie sneaker is still popular on the Kyrie 8’s outsole, in addition to taking design cues from the Kyrie 6.
