Five La Masia starlets help Barcelona retain its squad worth with their €130million value

A notable bright spot, though, is the ascent of a number of young players from their renowned youth academy, La Masia. In addition to their strong on-field performances, these players have contributed to the club’s ability to retain its overall market worth.

Barcelona has struggled this season and hasn’t quite reached the standards they had hoped for.

According to a Mundo Deportivo report, young players like Marc Guiu, Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, Hector Fort, and Lamine Yamal are starting to show promise. These players have been instrumental in maintaining Barcelona’s market value throughout the challenging season.

An increase in certain people’s market value

The publication notes that the club’s market valuation has merely dropped from €846.6 million to €839 million, a little €7.4 million.

These young players’ contributions have made Barcelona one of the most valuable teams in the world, which is partly responsible for this slight decline.

For example, Yamal’s market value increased from €25 million to €75 million, a surge of €50 million. Fermin’s worth climbed to €15 million, Cubarsi’s to €25 million, and the prices of Hector Fort and Marc Guiu to €7.5 million apiece.

Apart from these La Masia grads, the market valuations of other players have also increased.

For instance, Inaki Pena increased his market worth from €4 million to €8 million. Due to his excellent start to the season, Vitor Roque, a recent addition, experienced an increase in his market worth from €32 million to €40 million.

Not everyone is a hiker.

Not every player, though, saw their value rise. The market prices of Alejandro Balde, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde all dropped by €10 million.

Joao Cancelo, Joao Felix, and Pedri suffered the worst declines, each losing €20 million in market value. Due mostly to aging, Robert Lewandowski’s market value also dropped by €15 million.

It’s interesting to see that only three Barcelona players—Andreas Christensen, Gavi, and Ronald Araujo—have kept up their market value since the beginning of the campaign. Particularly Gavi, whose estimated market worth is €90 million, is still quite valuable.
