Retrospectively, Kevin Durant’s 2010 Christmas game against the Denver Nuggets stands as a prime example of his precocious scoring prowess and inevitable rise to NBA greatness. Durant was drafted into the league in 2007 by the OKC Thunder (then the Seattle Supersonics). Durant has been unstoppable since he became one of the league’s top forwards in his rookie year, which was three years ago.
One of the most iconic Christmas performances in NBA history occurred in 2010 when “KD” was on a roll. Some have ranked Durant’s Christmas effort against the Nuggets as one of the best ten by a single player in NBA history.
The Nuggets were defeated 114-106 by the youthful Durant, who was adorned in his distinctive KD 3 “Christmas” sneakers. On top of his 44 points, Durant shot 70% from the field and was absolutely smoking that night. On that particular night, he contributed seven boards, four assists, two steals, and two blocks.
In the Phoenix Suns’ Christmas game against the Dallas Mavericks, Kevin Durant might rock the classic KD 3 “Christmas” shoes and repeat his massive performance from earlier in the season.
