Lay-off! Is Bayern Munich going to sign Levi Colwill? Talks are on for Chelsea defender to join Harry Kane

Initial discussions over a deal including Colwill have reportedly already occurred, according to a report from German outlet Sky Sport. According to a different report from Sky Sport, the Germany international has already notified his current club Bayer Leverkusen of his intention to go, and Bayern are reportedly in verbal agreement with him.

In light of the potential summer exits of Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano, Bayern are looking to bolster their defensive depth, and although Tah and Colwill are both left-sided center backs, it doesn’t appear to be an either/or situation. The first loan of Eric Dier from Tottenham was extended to a permanent one in March.

After spending time on loan at Brighton and Huddersfield Town, Colwill finally broke into the first squad for Chelsea in his debut season, making 32 games. The latter had hoped for a long-term contract last summer, when reports indicated interest from Liverpool as well.

The key issue is Bayern’s reaction, as the inevitable loss of their Bundesliga dominance was inevitable. A new head coach, Vincent Kompany, has been hired, and there may be a lot of player turnover before the 2024–25 season starts.

He played in 54 games for Manchester City last season, scoring 19 goals and assisting on 13 more. He was 24 years old. Álvarez has been heavily linked to Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain as potential suitors for the rising star.

In his most recent piece for CaughtOffside, transfer window expert Fabrizio Romano shared the latest news. Several clubs are keen, he said, but Manchester City would do everything it takes to hold on to the player after the summer transfer window ends.

Juliano Álvarez was mentioned in Romano’s column as having “concrete interest” from PSG. PSG has reached out to Álvarez’s associates to let them know about their interest in him, although negotiations are not underway at this time. Although Atlético de Madrid is interested as well, the deal’s financials make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for them to join. There is interest from English clubs, but no official contact has been made regarding Chelsea or any other club at this time.

Romano claims that the English club has no intentions of loaning Álvarez out.

On the contrary, they are demanding a hefty amount in the event that they opt to release him this summer. Nevertheless, Álvarez’s stated request to leave and a substantial offer are the only conditions under which they will contemplate selling him.
