Antonio Rudiger and Niclas Fullkrug were involved in a heated brawl during a training session just days before Euro 2024 kicked off when the Real Madrid defender repeatedly pulled the Borussia Dortmund striker down

Days before the hosts are scheduled to kick off Euro 2024, Germany’s Antonio Rudiger and Niclas Fullkrug got into a furious argument in training.

During a training crossing drill, Rudiger had hauled the striker down multiple times while the defender was attentively monitoring him.

After a particularly forceful challenge, Fullkrug reportedly started cursing at Rudiger while still on the ground.

The attacker then sprang up and moved in Rudiger’s direction, pushing the two players.

Sandro Wagner, the assistant coach, was then forced to step in and diffuse the tension.

Fullkrug reportedly needed to be calmed down by a member of Germany's coaching staff

Rudiger and Fullkrug shoved one another in the weight room as Germany got ready for Euro 2024.

Subsequently, Rudiger was observed mockingly cheering for Fullkrug after one of the coaching staff members helped him to calm down.

Both teams met in the Champions League final earlier this month at Wembley, where Rudiger’s Real Madrid defeated Fullkrug’s Dortmund 2-0.

Earlier in the day, Fullkrug had praised Rudiger, calling him and fellow center-back Jonathan Tah “simply world class” during a press conference.

He reportedly stated, “We’re very strong with them at the back,” according to the German Football Federation.

They are just top-notch and play with strength and energy. It’s quite challenging to get beyond them.

Being able to have them both on the field feels great.
