Argentine football legend Lionel Messi has stated his intention to complete his famous playing career with Inter Miami

Messi, whose deal with the MLS team runs through the 2025 season, gave his remarks in an interview that will air on ESPN on Wednesday.

“Yes, as of today, I think it’s going to be my last club,” Messi answered ESPN.

In addition, Messi said, “I’m not ready to leave football either.” He will turn 37 on June 24.

Barcelona became legendary under the legendary eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, who won four Champions Leagues and ten La Liga titles with the Catalan club.

Argentina will be represented by Messi at this month’s Copa America, which will be held in the US. Messi was the driving force behind the team’s success in the 2021 and 2022 World Cups.

Messi played for Barcelona from 2004 to 2021, then Paris Saint-Germain from 2021 to 2023, and finally Inter Miami last year, when he was an early contributor to the team’s League Cup victory.

“It was a difficult step to leave Europe to come here,” remarked Messi.

“The fact of having been world champion helped a lot to see things differently also.”
