Atletico Madrid has rejected a £34 million bid from Chelsea for striker Samu Omorodion, according to talkSPORT.

Enzo Maresca, the manager of the Blues, has made it his main goal to sign a new center-forward in order to compete with Nicolas Jackson.The Senegal international is rumored to be thinking about leaving Stamford Bridge after the team parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino, leaving him disgruntled.

The former Villarreal striker has been linked to Atletico, but the west Londoners are prepared to reject any offers for the 22-year-old.

Chelsea, who was impressed by Omorodion’s loan at Alaves during the 2023–2024 campaign, is hoping to raid Atletico.

After 35 games and eight La Liga goals, Chelsea made a £34 million deal, which was promptly turned down.They have made the 20-year-old an offer of a new contract in an effort to keep him at Wanda Metropolitano.

Omorodion, a young international player for Spain, only moved to Atletico from Granada in August 2023; he will remain there until 2028.

However, new terms have been given to him, as Atletico included a massive release clause worth approximately £85 million in their contract offer.

Diego Simeone had thought about summoning him back after he had made a strong start at Alaves, with the Argentine legend praising his abilities.”You can see him evolving in the games we’ve followed involving Alaves,” he stated in October regarding the player.

“He’s a youthful, strong man who moves quickly through large areas and plays the box really well with his body.

“Given his future with Atletico, let’s hope he performs well at Alaves.

After Slovenian sensation Benjamin Sesko chose to sign a new contract at RB Leipzig rather than transfer to the Premier League, Chelsea looked to Omorodion.

TalkSPORT has learned that Chelsea is also considering Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, a striker.
