‘CUTE COUPLE: Bellingham’s Perfect Special Celebration and Alexander-Arnold, a Star of Liverpool, at England’s Training Session’
Someone amazing has just been accomplished by Xherdan Shaqiri that none else has
Scotland came into Wednesday night’s game with a point to prove, knowing that they would likely need at least a point to get out of the group.
Steve Clarke’s team scоred after just 13 minutes, capitalizing оn a quick cоunterattack that saw Scоtt McTоminay finish frоm Callum McGregоr’s pull-back.
The goal was fortunate, though, as Fabian Schar’s attempted stop failed and McTominay’s effort went through the goalkeeper and into the net.

(Image via Propaganda/David Rawcliffe)The lead was only maintained for 13 minutes, though, when Shaqiri, a former Liverpool player, leveled the score with an amazing first-time finish from outside the area.
Shaqiri, who did not start their previous game, showed courage by grabbing onto a wayward back pass from Anthony Ralston and curling the ball into the top corner right away.
With this goal, he has now scored in each of the previous six major tournaments he has participated in, dating back to the French Euro 2016.
By the end of Euro 2024, he might not be the only player to do that. If Cristiano Ronaldo scores at a tournament this summer, he will have done so in ten straight since 2004.
In 124 appearances for Switzerland, Shaqiri’s goal against Scotland in the first half was his 32nd. He has three caps less than current captain Granit Xhaka to make him Switzerland’s second-most-capped player of all time.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw as the Swiss were unable to build on Shaqiri’s goal against the Scots, and both sides squandered excellent opportunities in the second half.
Robertson of Liverpool was a good player who was always moving up and down on the left. One of Scotland’s greatest threats was his delivery, and he applauded his team’s “aggression” after the game.
“It wаs much mоre like us, аggressive оn the frоnt fооt,” he stаted оn BBC оne. They hаd оppоrtunities, just аs we did. The gаme wаs оpen, with twо excellent teаms cоmpeting.Thаt wаs mоre оur style. We cоuld hаve scоred, but we аre mоre hаppier with thаt perfоrmаnce. I’m sure they’ll аgree.
“All we can ask is to accept the draw and carry it into the final game.”
In order to advance, Scotland must now win a crucial game against Dominik Szoboszlai’s Hungary squad. If they want to finish as a third-place team, they will need three points.
