The 2024 Summer Olympics, when basketball players from all around the globe will compete as representatives of their respective countries, have the basketball world’s full attention now that the NBA season has ended.
Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and broadcaster Bob Fitzgerald are all set to participate in the upcoming summer games. Curry will be playing for Team USA, Thompson will be practicing with Team Bahamas, and Fitzgerald will be providing play-by-play commentary.
Wednesday, the Warriors added Andrew Wiggins to that list of players when they announced his selection to the training camp roster for the Canadian national team.Canadian athletes like Wiggins have competed in the Olympics before, and this time around, they’re considered heavy favorites to win the gold medal.
As part of Team Canada’s extended training camp, Wiggins is one of twenty players taking part. Along with a number of other Canadian NBA players, he becomes part of a talented team that includes Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets.

On Thursday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed what had been rumored for some time: the Lakers had signed Redick to a four-year contract. Redick was widely believed to be the leader for the position until the Lakers made a surprising U-turn and offered UConn head coach Dan Hurley a huge contract. Hurley publicly debated the offer before declining and opting to pursue an NCAA triple crown. After that, the Lakers went back to Redick.
Despite Redick’s lack of coaching experience, which Steve Kerr apparently didn’t consider an issue, the man has an impressive resume. Throughout his fifteen years as an NBA player, his high basketball IQ was a constant. Among the most brilliant and esteemed coaches of all time who he has had the privilege of playing for are Mike Krzyzewski at Duke and Stan Van Gundy, Rick Carlisle, and Doc Rivers in the NBA. Redick has been a part of ESPN’s NBA coverage since he retired following the 2020–21 season and is now a broadcaster.
Also, did you know that Redick and Lakers star LeBron James are co-hosts of a podcast? Is it a lucky chance? In my opinion, no.
To get down to brass tacks, the Lakers have hired a podcaster to replace Steve Kerr as head coach, which appears to be setting up Draymond Green for a life away from the court. I really hope it’s not the Lakers.
