The 16-year-old star made the Italian defense wobble but still did not forget to do his homework while attending EURO 2024.

Lamine Yamal still has to fulfill his schoolboy duties even though he is playing for Spain at EURO 2024.

“If my teacher sees Spain reaching the quarter-finals or the round of 16, I’ll probably get less homework. But on my days off, I don’t know what extra work he’ll give me,” the 16-year-old Barca star said after completing an English assignment.

At 16 years and 338 days old, Yamal was in the starting lineup in his first EURO 2024 appearance against Croatia. He set a record as the youngest player to appear in the tournament’s history.

The youngster was brilliant, contributing to 2 of Spain’s 3 goals. In the situation where Fabian Ruiz doubled the gap, the 16-year-old talent dribbled skillfully and passed the ball to Alvaro Morata before the ball reached Ruiz. Yamal also constantly tormented the Croatian defense on the right wing.

According to statistics from Opta , Yamal had 5 tackles, successfully completed 3 out of 4 dribbles (second most in the match), created 3 scoring opportunities (most), had 3 shots (most) and had 1 assist.
