After Dani Olmo’s recent remarks alluded to a potential return to Catalonia, Barcelona supporters may have cause for celebration on the potential homecoming of the former La Masia pupil.

In fact, Olmo hinted at a possible return to Catalonia during a press conference (via La Opinion A Coruna) and spoke on a variety of Barcelona-related topics, including his time at La Masia.

Olmo teases a return to Barcelona

“My destiny will be revealed prior to July 14th. Regarding his future, Olmo stated, “I’m calm, focused on the Euros, on playing, contributing, and that’s it.”

Fans of Barcelona will be especially interested in what he said following this, since he explicitly refused to rule out going back to Camp Nou.

Olmo stated, “Going back to Barça is a possibility that may occur.””We’ll find out after the Euros.”

Olmo was questioned if Barça had supported him when he was at La Masia, while the conversation turned to Barcelona.

Olmo stated, “Now it’s another time,” without expressing any bitterness. Newer players including Marc Guiu, Héctor Fort, Gavi, Lamine, and Cubarsi come. I’m glad for the players who have made a lot of participation. We find it positive and significant that they are making progress toward joining the national squad.

Olmo continued talking about La Liga, but he also mentioned how much he liked the Premier League.

“La Liga, the league in my nation, is one of the greatest leagues in the world, and I watch it. The English league, which might be the best at the time, and the one in Germany both seem to be of a very high caliber, the man stated.

Last but not least, the RB Leipzig sensation praised Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s best young product, who has been frightening opposing defenses for the past year or two.

“Lamine Yamal is a 16-year-old boy who is a show and knows what he needs to do.” He exudes confidence, and it’s evident how good and far he can go. Since he is sixteen, he must keep working in this manner and keep his feet firmly planted; everything else will take care of itself, he stated.

Shortly after Alejandro Grimaldo, another prominent Spanish player, praised the Barcelona winger, Olmo made his remarks on Yamal.

It remains to be seen now if Dani Olmo and Yamal can eventually work together at Barcelona the following season.
