A heated altercation broke out between Phoenix Suns bench players Devin Booker and Kevin Durant during yesterday night’s road victory against the Houston Rockets.
In an interview with The Athletic’s Kelly Iko conducted after the game, Durant discussed the incident involving Booker.
Regarding his discussions with Booker, Durant stated, “I think every day, it’s about how can I put myself and my teammates in the best position to be successful.”. It will only get better if we keep having that conversation every day, no matter how we play — watching films together, keeping creating that bond on the floor together.
The Suns improved to 15-15 on the season with a 129-113 victory over the Rockets. With this victory, Phoenix ended a three-game losing run.Against the Rockets, Durant had a phenomenal game. In 41 minutes of play, the two-time Finals MVP shot 9 for-16 from the field, 3-for-7 from beyond the arc, and 6-for-8 from the free throw line, for a total of 27 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-high 16 assists.
“So, tonight, it was good for us to go through some stuff early in the game to have those heated conversations where we can all come back together and talk it over again,” Durant said. As a team, you might benefit from having passionate discussions every once in a while since it forces you to be open and honest with one another. We’re all getting the hang of it. Starting again with a fresh squad, group of players, and lineup can be challenging. I believe we’re making progress toward your goal of becoming more at ease with those conversations.
