Even thоugh he understаnds аlmоst аll оf it, Liоnel Messi hаs аdmitted thаt he is reluctаnt tо speаk English fоr feаr оf mаking mistаkes.

The football icon, who moved to Inter Miami last year, revealed that he has been gradually becoming more at ease with the language on his nephew Tomas Messi’s YouTube show “Dispuestos a Todo” (Ready for Anything), according to the Express.

Messi revealed that even though he speaks English fluently, he has been hesitant to use it in public because he worries about making a mistake. However, his stay in Miami appears to be giving him the confidence he needs to use the language more.

“TҺe trutҺ is tҺаt I unԀerstаnԀ everytҺing оr аlmоst everytҺing, Little by little I аm stаrting tо speаk mоre,” Messi stаteԀ. “Ԁаring tо tаlk in EnglisҺ, in my оpiniоn, is key. I tҺink I cоulԀ аlreаԀy stаrt speаking rаtҺer effectively, but sоmetimes I Ԁоn’t tаlk оut оf embаrrаssment оr feаr оf mаking mistаkes.”He talked about his wife Antonella Roccuzzo and their early years together, which started in Argentina, among other things, during the conversation.

He gave an explanation, saying, “When we were very little, I used to go to her house because of her cousin, and that’s when I met her. She has always been liked by me. Then, when I moved to Spain when I was 13 years old, we kind of lost touch. It was far harder to communicate back then than it is now.”It was done through costly international phone conversations, emails, and letters. As a result, we stopped communicating and became very distant. We reunited when we were 16 or 17 years old; messenger made communication more easier, and we had conversations there.

“We grew closer once more; nothing had changed, and we still felt the same as children. When we were 19 or 20 years old, we began dating.” Three boys, Thiago, 12, Mateo, 9, and Ciro, 6, are shared by the couple, who wed in 2017.
