Response from veteran guard follows sensational story tying Warriors to 9-time All-Star

As we enter a crucial week for the NBA, rumors are swirling that the Golden State Warriors may make a blockbuster move for Paul George, the best player for the Los Angeles Clippers. George has been a nine-time All-best, and his future is in the spotlight.

Next year, George can choose to play for the team or opt out for $48.8 million. The 34-year-old’s chances of opting into his deal and requesting a trade are increasing, contrary to prior speculation that he would opt out and become an unrestricted free agent. On Monday, NBA Insider Marc Stein said that George might be traded to the New York Knicks or the Warriors.

Former Golden State Warriors teammate Patrick Beverley has spoken out on the possibility of a trade including Paul George.CоncerneԀ аbоut Geоrge’s pоtentιаl Ԁepаrture tо tҺe Wаrrιоrs, veterаn guаrԀ Pаtrιck Beverley pоsteԀ оn X (prevιоusly Twιtter) tо sаy tҺаt ιt “wоulԀ be sо tоugҺ.”

After suiting up for the Sixers and Bucks this year, Beverley will be free to sign with any team he wants. The 35-year-old was courted by the Warriors in February of last year, but he ultimately signed with the Chicago Bulls. In response to Beverley’s tweet, fans suggested that he should also visit the Bay Area this upcoming offseason.Because they are not yet in the second tax apron, the Warriors will not be able to trade for George until the new cap year begins in July. Assuming Klay Thompson leaves in free agency, Chris Paul’s $30 million deal would probably be the biggest money going out the door in such a deal.

In his most recent podcast, Bill Simmons of The Ringer also addressed the Warriors’ interest in George, speculating that the Warriors could acquire the 9-time All-Star by trading Paul, Payton, and Jonathan Kuminga to the Clippers.
