Last week, in front of the TD Garden crowd, Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics triumphed over Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5, raising the Larry O’Brien trophy for the first time in 16 seasons. This victory came 16 years after the team had done the same exact thing against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008 Finals. Although Tatum gave by far his greatest performance of the series in Game 5, it was insufficient to earn the MVP title for the Finals. Instead, Jaylen Brown, a colleague of Tatum’s from the Celtics, who was far more reliable throughout the series and also played some great defense on Doncic, took home the trophy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Celtics have been on a global tour in the week and a half since their victory on the grandest stage of the game. After celebrating on South Beach in Miami, Brown was sighted at Paris fashion week. The squad went to see the Boston Red Sox on Monday, and Tatum, of course, was holding the trophy the entire time.

The Celtics then shared the image of the player clutching the trophy in front of a Red Sox placard at Fenway Park that read, “We play for championships,” on their X social media account, which was formerly known as Twitter.

Fans were obviously thrilled with the cool movie.
