The interesting old village of Kandovan is a sight to behold. It is situated in the East Azerbaijan province, close to Tabriz, Iran. There are 670 people living in this unusual community, which has been around for at least 800 years. It is a well-liked place for tourists looking for an unforgettable experience because of its magnificent scenery.
The unusual houses in Kandovan are well known; some of them date back more than 700 years. The homes are carved out of rocks. This settlement is thought to have been partially constructed by the remnants of a powerful volcanic eruption that occurred on Mount Sahand many hundred years ago.
You can see that this is a special location where houses are built inside of mountains rather than on top of them in the brief video below. The rock’s ability to function as an energy-efficient material to keep a cool summer temperature and a cozy winter atmosphere is one intriguing feature. Because of this, the vast majority of locals don’t need air conditioning or heating.
This village’s amazing architecture seems to defy all convention, and its amazing slopes and unusual routes usually leave tourists spellbound. A hotel that was built recently was inspired by and associated with the village’s “style.” The “Rocky Hotel” features incredibly cozy living quarters inside gorgeous cave interiors. The fact that it takes four people ten months to excavate a single room fascinated us the most. Watch the video to see how these rooms have a distinct look.
