The 2023–24 season concluded a week ago; now, especially for the Phoenix Suns, it is time to look ahead. Entering with the 22nd pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the franchise had a chance to solve a variety of issues. In the draft this year, they flipped that pick into four picks—the 28th and 56th ones among others.
This might be the instant Phoenix starts the ball rolling in the correct way. In which correct direction is this? Great? a player of a playfield? A wing in athletics?
And the Phoenix Suns choose… Ryan Dunn, forward from the University of Virginia with the 28th pick.Mаny sаy he is the finest defender in the drаft, hence he shоuld hаve а quick influence оn thаt end in Phоenix.
Everyone knew the jumper needed improvement. Over his two seasons at Virginia, he nailed just 12 threes on 51 tries. Still, his influence is there from screening, slicing, cutting, and catching lobs. Should the three- pointer materialize, be alert. He measures 6’7″ with a 7’1″ wingspan.Suitable for Phoenix
To start the 2024 offseason, the Suns attended to one of their most important needs. Many actually. Measurement: Size Look. Defense? Ask. athleteship? Verify. Youngness? Examine.
Although the jumper has a lot of room to improve, he does many things the Suns need.
Phoenix has no need of a second scorer. Someone to handle the filthy tasks who doesn’t require the ball to shine was needed. Ryan Dunn is someone like that.
He can be matched with the big three and a center to close games with great size. His idea of role-playing with Durant, Booker, and Beal appeals to me overall and fits quite well.
One thing is for sure: Ryan Dunn will play defense at a top level; there are no guarantees in the draft and it’s easy to see guys through rose-colored glasses this time of year.
