Five years have passed since she rose to fame portraying socialite Serena van der Woodsen in the popular teen TV series Gossip Girl.
After taking on several recent film roles, Blake Lively is now expressing her readiness to move on from her iconic character.
In a new interview with Bullett Magazine, the star discusses her departure from the show that catapulted her into the spotlight, while also posing for a series of captivating photos.
One striking photograph captures the star flaunting her figure in a white dress with a thigh-high slit and a bold metal belt, while another showcases her in a low-cut red Lanvin ensemble.
Blake’s long blonde locks are styled in tousled beach waves, complemented by subtle makeup that accentuates her flawless complexion.
The actress is set to film the final season of Gossip Girl this year, with the last episode scheduled to air on the U.S. network The CW sometime next year.
Reflecting on the eventual season finale, she shares with the magazine, “I think the best way to describe it is like someone who really enjoyed high school, and is like, I’m a senior and I can’t wait for the next thing!”
She acknowledges the significance of Gossip Girl in her career but expresses her eagerness for new challenges, stating, “Gossip Girl was so great, but what’s the next challenge in life? Because, you know, six years is a long time.”
Blake emphasizes her readiness to move forward, asserting, “I’m ready to move on with my life, and I can’t do that with Gossip Girl tracking my every move.”
In addition to her role in the 2010 film The Town alongside Ben Affleck, the 24-year-old actress has appeared in movies such as Hick and Green Lantern opposite Ryan Reynolds, whom she is now dating.
She portrays Ophelia in the upcoming crime drama Savages, where her character is kidnapped by members of a Mexican drug cartel.
Reflecting on her experience working with director Oliver Stone on Savages, Blake describes it as unique, noting, “Oliver is by no means a cheerleader. His movies very much reflect the strong, aggressive powerhouse that he is, so he’s not cooing at you along the way.”
Despite challenges, she appreciates the lasting friendships she has built over time, stating, “They always end up being long and lasting.”
Blake shares her approach to meeting new people, saying, “I meet so many people in passing at parties, but I’ve never been a person who’s like, I know I just met you, but let’s exchange numbers and be best friends.
