Visitors were notified that Murphy was caring for a rock by a sign on the enclosure’s fence.

Murphy is the eagle you see resting on a perch in the far left corner of the room. According to the notice, Murphy is not injured, ill, or in any kind of trouble. He is meticulously incubating a rock in his ground-level nest! We hope everything works well for him!

Murphy, according to a later update on April 4, became too protective of RockBaby to the point where he occupied one-third of the 90,000 cubic-square-foot cage that he shared with four other eagles.

Murphy was removed from the public eye and placed in a private area because of his violent behavior.
