One of just 793 440 6-Pack A727 Automatic Challengers produced in 1970, this “V-Code” ’70 R/T is highly sought-after and unique. The Dana 60 3.54 “Sure Grip” rear axle was also installed when it was manufactured.

 

It wasn’t until 2008 that this Challenger was brought back to concours condition. Aside from the black vinyl top and side stripes, it arrived at the manufacturer in its true “Hemi Orange” hue. Both the body and the paint are absolutely spotless. The panels fit perfectly, and the paint has a glossy sheen. Its undercarriage is immaculate. Every single piece of glass is authentic and pristine. The original aluminum glass trimmings are in pristine shape and fit well. Rechromed from the originals, the bumpers are chrome. With the exception of the trunk pan, this vehicle is completely original and made of metal. The sports hood, complete with hold down pins, was a factory accessory. This automobile does not have any signs of corrosion or rust bubbles.

 

The 440 6-pack’s initial ratings were 390 horsepower and 490 torque. It is said to produce somewhat more than 400 horsepower due to its rebuilding five years ago with a hotter cam. This vehicle’s engine is a perfect match. The gearbox is a rebuilt A727 as well. There is a Hemi Suspension Handling Package, a 7-blade fan, a 3.54 “Sure Grip” Dana 60, a 26-inch radiator, and the A33 “Track Pack” option, all of which were standard on the factory-installed Chanllenger.

 

All of the bearings, bushings, ball joints, and suspension were replaced throughout the restoration. Repairs were made to the original steering box. With the addition of BAER front and rear disc brakes, it now boasts power disc brakes.

 

A number of original components, including the 26-inch raditator, exhaust manifolds, drums, booster, spindles, and 15-inch rallye wheels with aluminum rings, are still in the vehicle. We upgraded the driving performance by replacing certain parts with modern ones.
