Some changes have been afoot for the Golden State Warriors. Following the free agency losses of Klay Thompson and Chris Paul, this decision becomes more logical.

De’Anthony Melton and Kyle Anderson were both added to the Warriors’ roster on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. A sign-and-trade agreement for Buddy Hield is reportedly close to being finalized by the Dubs.

The Warriors still don’t seem to be finished yet, even with the addition of those three new players.

Report: Lauri Markkanen Ranked First Among Golden State Warriors TargetsFollowing their failed pursuit of Paul George, the Dubs have reportedly decided to focus on Lauri Markkanen, a standout for the Utah Jazz. The Warriors are reportedly “all in” on acquiring the All-Star center, according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole, who is a source with the Dubs:

The Warriors’ current top target is Lauri Markkanen, according to what Poole has heard (h/t NBACentral on X, formerly Twitter).It is unknown what assets the Warriors will have to give up to complete the Buddy Hield sign-and-trade, which is a new development. Also, whether or not this trade affects the Warriors’ pursuit of Markkannen is an open question.

In any case, the Jazz will want a lot of money when they trade their star center. It is also unclear if the Warriors have enough assets to pull off a possible trade.
