The Celtics player Jaylen Brown lost his engraved championship ring, but two kind strangers came to his aid and gave it back to him. It was Brown’s intention to repay the favor.
When Brown’s diamond-studded ring vanished during the Celtics’ June 21 title parade, he turned to his four million Instagram followers two weeks ago to see if they might help him find it.
Tuesday, Brown said on his social media sites that he had been re-acquired the ring by a couple called Luke and Adi. Brown also shared the details of a delightful treat he intends to provide to the couple.
“Got it back thank you to Luke and Adi I’ll see you courtside at the [Celtics’ championship ring] ceremony,” Brown posted on X along with a photo of the recovered ring.The couple could have made a tidy sum selling the ring on its own. Still, nothing beats getting courtside seats worth thousands of dollars and the eternal appreciation of the defending Finals MVP.
The Celtics’ championship parade was a real party for Brown. Brown, who is typically somewhat reserved, let his guard down at the occasion and even wore a shirt that made fun of an ESPN celebrity.

Walker, 34, starred at UConn and helped the Huskies to a championship in 2011. The Charlotte Bobcats selected him with the ninth overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
He spent his first eight NBA seasons in Charlotte before signing a four-year, $140 million contract with the Celtics in 2019. Walker served as the replacement for Kyrie Irving, who left Boston for the Brooklyn Nets in free agency.

After the 2020-21 season, the Celtics traded Walker to the Oklahoma City Thunder along with a 2021 first-round draft pick (16th overall), and a 2025 second-round pick in exchange for Al Horford, Moses Brown, and a 2023 second-round draft pick. Walker reached a contract buyout agreement with the Thunder and signed with the New York Knicks.
Knee issues continued to plague Walker over his final two seasons with the Knicks and Dallas Mavericks. He did not play in the NBA during the 2023-24 campaign, instead playing overseas with the LNB Pro A and EuroLeague club AS Monaco.
