Numerous legendary NBA players have cemented their positions in the illustrious history of Team USA throughout the years of USA Basketball. The legendary Dwyane Wade of the Heat and the legendary Carmelo Anthony of the Knicks are two such guys.
The two continued to demonstrate their support by showing up to training camp, even though they are no longer participating in this year’s Olympic marathon.
The two ex-NBA players ran across current and former teammates including Steph Curry of the Warriors, LeBron James of the Lakers, and others upon their arrival at the team’s gym. James, Wade, and Anthony’s friendship stretches all the way back to their time together in the 2003 draft class.
The NBA’s social media crew recorded their exchange and posted the footage on Instagram.During his time with Team USA in 2008, Dwyane Wade played a key role in the team’s victory over Spain and the subsequent gold medal. Carmelo Anthony, meanwhile, cemented his place as one of the greatest American basketball players of all time with his three Olympic gold medals.
Now that the torch has been passed down to the current crop of players, it is up to these rising stars to continue the great work of these two basketball greats.
