LeBron James’ Fourth Opponent Turned Head Coach Is New Lakers Coach JJ Redick

Former NBA player JJ Redick was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers on a four-year contract to take over as head coach. Redick did spent 15 years in the NBA as a player and was well-known for his high basketball IQ and exacting attention to detail and work ethic even though he had no coaching experience at any significant level.

Redick spent much of his career battling teams headed by LeBron James after being chosen in 2006. Actually, the two met each other 35 times during LeBron’s career with a 24-11 lead. While the current Lakers superstar averaged 27.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists against his new mentor, Redick averaged 12.3 points versus James.

Still, LeBron has had coaching from someone he faced off with on the court before. Redick is the fourth opponent-turned-coach LeBron James has had; it has happened three prior times.
