Our first summer competition, a match against Wrexham in Santa Clara, is a little over a week away. You are welcome to attend that game on Wednesday, July 24th!
Our newest player, Renato Veiga, joined Enzo Maresca and the rest of Chelsea’s training squad at Cobham today.
I play aggressively and with intelligence. In our initial interview, Veiga elaborated.
I consider myself a complete player because of my versatility and my ease with the ball. On the field, I can play a variety of positions with ease.Furthermore, Veiga elaborated, saying, “I wouldn’t say I have a favourite position because it depends on the opponent or tactical elements.” However, he did indicate that he has experience playing left back, center back, and defensive midfield.
Being tall and physically strong makes me love defending quite a bit. No matter the situation, I prefer to be in charge of the game. Our head coach was just as illuminating as always during the portions of practice that were played on the grass, and Veiga has begun to grasp Maresca’s football philosophy.
Christopher Nkunku, meantime, was putting in a last-ditch effort to get a spot on the French Olympic team in anticipation of Paris 2024, which begins later this month, by undergoing a leaping test in the gym.
The athletes were just as fiercely competitive while taking part in a different kind of athletic challenge, but they were more than happy to pose for photos doing the long jump. This arrangement is reminiscent of the famous celebration that followed Roberto Di Matteo’s late victory against Middlesbrough in August 1996, which included this very set up!
