After having their £8 million offer for Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour rejected, Napoli are prepared to raise their offer.
Antonio Conte wants the 23-year-old Scotland international, who is still under contract with two years to go. The Italian coach is hopeful that they will be able to reach a deal, and fresh talks are planned this week.
Gilmour first gained recognition under manager Antonio Conte’s tutelage at Chelsea. While they wait for negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain on the sale of Victor Osimhen to progress, Napoli are targeting an offer of approximately £25 million in response to the 31-year-old’s £38 million release clause.
So far, Conte has spent a total of £40 million on three players: Alessandro Buongiorno of Torino, Rafa Marín of Real Madrid, and Leonardo Spinazzola of Roma.
