Aaron Boone’s tenure as Yankees manager is nearly as absurd as JJ Reddick’s tenure as Lakers coach.
Rui Hachimura’s performance in the pre-Olympic exhibition events was exceptional for Japan
Although the majority of attention has been focused on Anthony Davis and LeBron James with Team USA this summer, Rui Hachimura will also be representing Japan at the Olympics. He may have taken a longer time to commit to Japan than either LeBron or AD; however, he will be the most prominent member of the team.
Rui did not participate in the majority of Japan’s pre-Olympics exhibition games, which was partially due to his late addition and presumably partially due to his desire to reduce the number of minutes he was required to play on his legs. On Friday, he was the first to appear in each of their two most recent matches, beginning with the match against Germany. To further elaborate on the aforementioned statistics, Rui completed 2-5 attempts from the three-point line and 5-6 attempts at the free throw line to complete his marksmanship. It is quite remarkable that he looked so strong, given that it was his first game since the Lakers’ loss to the Denver Nuggets at the end of April.
Rui’s subsequent performance on Sunday was even more impressive, suggesting that the previous encounter was merely a start. It is truly delightful to observe Rui scoring the ball with such ease. Although there may be criticisms or defects with his game, it is highly aesthetically pleasing. The sight of those mid-range attempts hitting nothing but the net is quite pleasing.
Now, the sight of a few of those brands passing by Nikola Jokic evokes some suppressed memories; however, we will refrain from delving into that. If I were truly being critical, I would point out the number of long twos and hope that they were threes. However, I am not going to be that critical of the individuals who are playing for their national teams.
The most thrilling aspect is that he will be the primary option for playing in significant games. It will be intriguing to observe his performance in his new capacity with the Lakers after a few seasons.
It is true that it is challenging to locate an exhibition schedule for Japan prior to the Olympics. There is a non-zero probability that this was their final warm-up, as they are scheduled to face Germany to commence Olympic play on Saturday. If you intend to view the event, prepare a cup of coffee. The game will commence at 4:30 a.m. PT on Peacock.
