Christopher Nkunku, the forward for Chelsea, is “feeling better” in anticipation of his second season with the club.
Following a £53m transfer from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023, the France international was restricted to only two Premier League appearances for the Blues during a tumultuous campaign.
Nkunku did not make his League début until the Christmas Eve loss at Wolves, during which he scored, after sustaining an injury during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States. He underwent knee surgery. In total, the 26-year-old was absent from 39 games for the club and concluded the season with three goals in 14 appearances across all competitions.
Nkunku has been granted a period of relaxation this summer after being excluded from the France selection for Euro 2024. He anticipates a productive season under the new head coach, Enzo Maresca.
“I am experiencing an improvement in my well-being subsequent to the challenging season of the previous year.” He stated, “I am experiencing an improvement in my health.”
“Over the summer, I enjoyed a pleasant respite.” I required it. I worked briefly prior to my arrival, but it was crucial for me to take a vacation after this year, both for my mental and physical well-being. It was enjoyable.
“I am currently dedicating myself to each training session in order to maintain my physical fitness and progress in a positive manner.” The team is strong, and the preseason is excellent. We are currently engaged in the rigorous practice of staying fresh and prepared to participate in friendly games.’“The new head coach brings very good ideas to play,” the Frenchman added, reflecting on Maresca’s appointment.
“We are all delighted to participate in each training session with him.” Presently, it is only the initial phase. It is imperative that we acquire knowledge and implement the necessary adjustments in each training session to align with his desired style of play.
“We are traveling here to acquire knowledge.” Our football team will be successful this year if all players adhere to the coach’s suggestion for playing.
